This is a pair of common Danish Cord seat chairs.  If you look closely in the background, there are a couple more behind them stacked on top of each other and you can almost see how they look underneath.  This is the type that has specially designed little hooked nails all around the inside perimeter to hook the cord over as the seat is woven.  If you have a Danish chair, look underneath; if you have this type seat you will see what I mean.   The picture below is my attempt to enlarge that section...I tried!

Danish chairs with this type seat, with all the hooks on the bottom side, are $165.00

Here is an example of another type Danish chair.  This seems also to be a pretty common type.  The basic weave looks the same, but the cord has to be fed through a very narrow slot and wrapped around the wood frame; there are no hooks to loop it around like the other type pictured above.  Yards and yards of cord is pulled through the slot on either side, tying in new bunches as the weaving progresses depending on how many yards one wants to get tangled in at a time.  This type weave takes 3-4 times longer to complete the seat, therefore the need to increase the price for this type substantially.  The fee for this type danish weave is $225.00 per panel.  (For example, the chair pictured has two panels...seat + back=$450.00)
